As Minister Ibrahim Sannoh transforms a life, Rosamond Moves from Under the Bridge to the Orange Digital Centre.

Timely intervention and compassionate leadership can change lives, Rosamond, a young woman who once lived “under the bridge,” a known hotspot for drug use and homelessness, has begun a new chapter of hope and opportunity.

Rosamond has officially been admitted to the Orange Digital Centre (ODC), where she will start a one-month foundational course in basic computer skills. Following the course, she will be assessed and placed into a specialized digital program based on her interests and performance.

This life-changing opportunity became possible after a personal visit by the Minister of Youth Affairs, Min. Ibrahim Sannoh, to the slum area beneath the bridge. During his outreach, the Minister encountered Rosamond, who had been struggling with the harsh realities of street life and drug exposure. Recognizing her condition and potential, he first facilitated medical care for her recovery and then worked to secure her admission into the ODC program.

“This is more than just about Rosamond, it’s a signal to every young person who feels forgotten, that the government sees them, and there is a way forward,” said Minister Sannoh.

The Orange Digital Centre is part of a broader national push to equip young people with practical, in-demand skills in technology and innovation. Rosamond’s enrollment is a shining example of inclusive development and how policy meets people on the ground.

Her story serves as a beacon of hope, reminding Sierra Leoneans, especially the youth, that no matter how dark the past, with the right support, the future can be bright.

From a life of survival to a future filled with skills, support, and opportunity, Rosamond is proof that when leaders see with compassion, and act with purpose, lives can truly be transformed.

Thank you, Minister Ibrahim Sannoh, for choosing to see her. Thank you for reminding us that every bridge has two sides, and with the right help, anyone can cross over. Thank you Orange.
