Government Sets aside International Public Service Day as National celebration

Government Cabinet has set aside the recognition of International Public Service Day as a national celebration, Minister Amara Kallon announced during the Government Weekly Press Briefing at Miatta Conference Centre.


Minister Kallon said the initiative celebrates, recognises, rand ewards public servants while promoting public service in national development. He acknowledged contributions across sectors, including teachers, healthcare workers, engineers, security personnel, and support staff, whose collective efforts sustain state functioning.


Minister disclosed plans to transform the Public Service Academy into a university-level institution, building capacity for over 94,000 public servants. Government secured 100 hectares lof and eto establish the facility.


Minister unveiled major social housing initiative targeting civil servants nationwide with 22,000 housing units. Payment sis tructured over 25–30 years, with the Government subsidising 60–70%of the cost.
