In a direct effort to address food insecurity, the Harvest Intercontinental Church in The Gambia has donated 25 bags of rice to the High Commission of Sierra Leone. The gift, presented in collaboration with Bishop Julius Laggah, is designed to provide immediate relief to vulnerable families.
The aid will be distributed to Sierra Leonean widows and others in need living in the Basse and Brikama Ba regions. This initiative reflects the church's deep-rooted commitment to social welfare and its focus on strengthening support networks for disadvantaged groups.
While accepting the donation, the Sierra Leonean High Commissioner, Madam Martha Kanagbo thanked Bishop Laggah, his wife, and Reverend Taylor for their steadfast partnership. She described that this support is crucial for her office's outreach programs, which aim to assist citizens residing in remote and underserved communities throughout The Gambia.
The High Commission commended the church for its compassionate action, acknowledging this donation as a powerful example of ongoing humanitarian cooperation between the two organizations.
