Minister Mahoi Receives UNFPA Country Rep. Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Partnership.

The Minister of Gender and Children’s Affairs, Dr. Isata Mahoi, received a courtesy visit from the newly appointed United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Country Representative at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Freetown.

The meeting served to reaffirm the long-standing partnership between the Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs (MoGCA) and UNFPA, particularly in advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and enhancing national efforts to prevent and respond to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).

During the engagement, the UNFPA Representative expressed the agency’s continued commitment to supporting Sierra Leone in achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls.

Dr. Mahoi, in her response, commended UNFPA for its sustained collaboration and pledged the Ministry’s dedication to strengthening joint initiatives that promote women’s rights, reproductive health, and protection from gender-based violence.

The visit marks another step in the ongoing partnership between MoGCA and UNFPA to advance inclusive development and foster a safer and more equitable environment for all Sierra Leoneans.
