In an unprecedented move toward political inclusivity and national unity, the Minister of Youth Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Sannoh, today paid a historic visit to the headquarters of the All People’s Congress (APC) Party in Freetown. The visit has been hailed as a bold demonstration of the government’s commitment to serving all young people, irrespective of political affiliation.
Accompanied by his wife, daughter, and Deputy Minister Mr. Patrick Gibrilla Michaels, Hon. Sannoh engaged with youths aligned with the APC, delivering a powerful message of unity and shared purpose.
“This visit is not about politics; it is about purpose. As Minister for all young people, I believe it's time to rise above party lines and focus on nation-building through youth empowerment,” Minister Sannoh said.
He revealed plans to formally write to the APC Youth Wing, seeking structured engagement and collaboration, and reaffirmed that all Sierra Leonean youth — including those from opposition parties — deserve to be heard and involved in shaping the national development agenda.
The landmark visit has since sparked nationwide dialogue across traditional and digital media platforms. Photos capturing the Minister’s warm interactions with APC youth have gone viral, drawing praise for his inclusive and statesmanlike approach to leadership.
Observers and political commentators have described the move as a turning point in fostering inter-party trust and healing divisions among young people. Many commend the Minister for modelling a leadership style based on dialogue, dignity, and development.
“Hon. Sannoh continues to set the tone for a new era of governance — one where inclusion is not a slogan, but a practice,” one commentator remarked.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs under Hon. Sannoh’s leadership has consistently prioritized national cohesion, gender inclusion, and youth empowerment through bold reforms and grassroots engagement.
As Sierra Leone charts its course towards sustainable peace and inclusive development, today’s visit signals a hopeful shift — where young people from all walks of life are recognized as vital agents of change, regardless of political identity.
