Minister Sannoh Champions Youth Empowerment at Day Two of the 2025 Sierra Leone Innovation Digital Government Summit.

The second day of the 2025 Sierra Leone Innovation Digital Government Summit ignited with renewed energy at the Bintumani Conference Centre in Aberdeen, Freetown, as Minister of Communication, Technology and Innovation, Salima Bah Sannoh, delivered a stirring keynote address focused on youth empowerment in the digital age.

Minister Sannoh, known for her progressive vision and inclusive leadership, outlined key achievements of her Ministry, highlighting that 70% of its interventions are women-led and 5% are disability-inclusive.

“The future is digital, and it belongs to YOU, the young people,” the Minister declared, drawing enthusiastic applause from hundreds of attendees. She emphasized the role of youth in shaping Sierra Leone’s digital future and called on them to dream big, lead innovation, and become agents of transformation in their communities.

The day concluded with a dynamic panel discussion and a Debate Competition Challenge, which saw spirited participation from young innovators across the country. Emerging victorious was Mohamed Turay, who won a fully equipped 20-foot Educube Hub for his school, featuring:

A Television

A Printer

Solar Power System

In addition to the Educube Hub, the top three finalists were each awarded personal laptops to support their continued learning and digital exploration.

The summit continues to showcase how digital governance, innovation, and youth leadership can merge to redefine Sierra Leone's development path.
