MoPAPA kick starts 2025 with a throwback on 2024 Targets and Deliverables.

– As a resilient Ministry with a hungry-result oriented Minister and all Departmental and Unit Heads of the Ministry of Public Administration and Political Affairs (MoPAPA) have on Thursday 23rd January completed a PowerPoint presentation on laid down “Targets and Deliverables for 2024.”

In his remarks prior to the presentation, Amara Kallon, the Minister of MoPAPA commended all for the zest demonstrated towards work throughout 2024 and he went on to state that MoPAPA’s relevance in the governance landscape has been recognized and the Ministry is a very vital force to reckoned with on government’s deliverables.

Minister Kallon outlined that the indicators of MoPAPA’s transformation is acknowledged in the Performance Tracking Table (PTT) Report or Ministerial Performance Contract (MPC) from State House – as MoPAPA is factored as one of the 5 key ministries graded above 80% - for gains made in relation to targets and deliverables, irrespective of the budget allocation.

The Minister in his statements, acknowledged outstanding challenges but he however, encouraged all to remain committed, and that the leadership of the Ministry is in control and on the path of stabilizing and transforming all departments and units of the Ministry.

He informed participants that, a lot of public education have been done in rebranding and revamping the public service; popularization of the public service strategy/master plan; international tours on showcasing the Ministry and the Government of Sierra Leone as a whole; and also, signing memorandum of understanding (MOU) with concerned stakeholders; and cabinet approval of the Revised 2024 Civil Service Code and Rules, coupled with other meaningful scores of international recognitions.

“Everywhere I go now, I do receive accolades from each and every one,” admitted the Minister.

On 2025 and the way forward, the Minister disclosed that the narratives on progress would be upgraded on the path to having a well-structured Ministry - keen on delivery. He urged staff to be fully familiar with their areas of responsibilities, and that there would be no room for excuses – as a delivery team would be in place and thus, all hands should be on deck.

“All retirements should be fully completed a day or two, following the accomplishment of any activity,” the Minister warned.

The Minister underscored the need for all the presentations for 2024 to be documented, and that every department and unit should do the needful, without fail.
