Ahead of 78th World Health Assembly, the Minister of Health, Dr Austin Demby, has arrived in Geneva, Switzerland, leading the Sierra Leone delegation in this crucial event.


The review, set to take place from May 19th-27th, 2025, and will bring together WHO member states to discuss key issues surrounding effective Healthcare delivery.


Accompanying Dr. Austin Demby is Dr. Sartie Mohamed Kenneh, Chief Medical Officer at the Ministry of Health, and other colleagues.


The Sierra Leone Health delegation will engage in bilateral discussions aimed at securing global support for reform initiatives designed to enhance the country’s health policy framework. This is in line with Sierra Leone’s pledge, made during its last Assembly, to tackle the numerous challenges facing global health.


Upon arrival at Geneva International Airport, Dr Austin Demby and team were warmly received by Mr. Edward Kawa, Head of Chancery and Minister Counsellor, of Sierra Leone Embassy and Permanent Mission to the United Nations Office and Other International Organizations in Geneva.
