It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Hassan Bruz, a dedicated correspondent for the Sierra Leone News Agency (SLENA) in the North West Region. Hassan passed away on the 29th December 2024 - leaving behind a legacy of commitment to journalism and his community.
In accordance with Muslim rites, he will be laid to rest in his hometown of Kawula, near Kambia, today.
Hassan's work as a correspondent was marked by his passion for truth and his tireless efforts to serve the public. His contributions to SLENA and the broader media landscape will be greatly missed.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
