SIERRA LEONE SIGNS MoU WITH AGILIX LABS TO LAUNCH AI-DRIVEN FUTURE LEARNING INSTITUTE.

Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Technical and Higher Education has entered into a landmark partnership with Agilix Labs, Inc., a leading U.S.-based educational technology company, to establish the Future Learning Institute (FLI)—an ambitious initiative designed to revolutionize vocational and higher education in Sierra Leone through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed by Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Dr. Haja Ramatulai Wurie, during the 2025 Education World Forum (EWF) held at Lancaster House in London. The EWF is recognized as the world’s largest annual gathering of education ministers and global policy influencers.

Under the agreement, Agilix Labs will provide state-of-the-art AI-powered learning technologies, including intelligent tutoring platforms, curriculum development tools, advanced assessment systems, and comprehensive digital course delivery infrastructure. The partnership also includes training, implementation support, and resource deployment to operationalize the Future Learning Institute.

The Ministry will oversee the management of the institute’s facilities, ensure effective financial and grant administration, and lead national outreach efforts to promote the initiative across institutions and communities.

Speaking at the signing, Minister Wurie described the MoU as a “significant step forward in Sierra Leone’s educational resurgence and an indicator of our increasing global recognition.” She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to leveraging modern learning technologies to advance education quality and accessibility nationwide.

Representing Agilix Labs, Curt Allen, President, CEO, and Co-founder of the company, commended Sierra Leone’s bold vision for education. “Agilix is proud to partner with Sierra Leone on this remarkable journey to empower its citizens and reclaim its historic role as a leading center of education on the African continent,” he stated.

The establishment of the Future Learning Institute marks a major milestone in Sierra Leone’s digital education transformation agenda. It reflects the government’s broader commitment to building a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready learning ecosystem, in line with President Julius Maada Bio’s vision of education as a cornerstone of national development.
