Youth Minister Sannoh Calls for Youth Inclusion at Inter-District Learning Cycle and Youth Conference.

The Minister of Youth Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Sannoh, delivered the keynote address at the Inter-District Learning Cycle and Youth Conference held at Bintumani Hall, Aberdeen, under the theme: “Fostering the Development of Youths for a Better Sierra Leone.” The event was organized under the Youth in Politics and Peacebuilding Fund.

Sharing his personal journey from humble beginnings in rural Scarce to his current role as Minister, Minister Sannoh inspired participants with a message of resilience and empowerment. He emphasized the critical role young people play as catalysts for peace and national development, urging all stakeholders to prioritize the needs and aspirations of Sierra Leonean youth.

Outlining his vision for an empowered youth ecosystem, the Minister highlighted four key pillars: promoting youth innovation in agriculture through a value chain approach that includes cash crops and food sustainability; strengthening climate change adaptation efforts; ensuring youth inclusion in all policymaking processes; and upholding the guiding principle of “Nothing for us without us.” This mantra, he stressed, reflects the need for active youth engagement in shaping policies that affect their futures.

“We all have a role to play in building a brighter, more inclusive Sierra Leone,” Minister Sannoh told the audience, encouraging them to take personal responsibility for their development and contribute meaningfully to national progress.

As part of the event, Minister Sannoh, alongside development partners and Caritas Freetown, symbolically handed over start-up kits to qualified youth learners, marking another step towards youth empowerment and self-reliance.
