Africell Sierra Leone has reaffirmed its commitment to community engagement by supporting thousands of Muslims across the country during this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations held on March 20, 2026
As worshippers gathered at various prayer grounds nationwide to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan, Africell distributed thousands of bottles of water and date palm fruits, while also providing sound systems to enhance the prayer experience.
The initiative formed part of the company’s broader Ramadan support programme, aimed at fostering unity, compassion, and goodwill within communities across Sierra Leone.
Speaking on the initiative, the Senior Event and Sponsorship Manager of Africell Sierra Leone, Nancy Toure, highlighted the company’s dedication to giving back to society, especially during significant religious observances.
“Throughout the month of Ramadan, we have actively supported our Muslim brothers and sisters through rice distribution and a special Ramadan television programme. As we conclude the holy month, we find it important to continue this support during such a meaningful moment of prayer,” She said.
She further emphasized that Africell’s commitment goes beyond business operations, reflecting a strong connection with the people it serves.
“While we are a business entity, we believe in building meaningful relationships and giving back to the community. This is something we take pride in, and we will continue to support impactful initiatives whenever possible,” She added.
The gesture was warmly welcomed by members of the Muslim community, many of whom expressed appreciation for the timely intervention. Some worshippers also called on other corporate institutions to emulate Africell’s example in promoting inclusivity and social responsibility.
Africell Sierra Leone continues to set the pace in corporate social responsibility, reinforcing its dedication to both its customers and the wider community through impactful and people-centered initiatives.
