Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio Arrives in Nice, France, Ahead of the United Nations 3rd Ocean Conference.

His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio has arrived in Nice, France, to participate in the United Nations 3rd Ocean Conference, a high-level global gathering dedicated to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 14: conserving and sustainably using the oceans, seas, and marine resources for sustainable development.

The 2025 UN Ocean Conference will bring together world leaders, scientists, policymakers, and civil society actors to discuss actionable strategies to protect marine ecosystems and promote ocean-based solutions to global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and marine pollution.

President Bio is scheduled to make a key intervention during one of the high-level debates, where he will outline Sierra Leone’s commitment to ocean governance, climate resilience, and the sustainable management of marine resources.

Upon arrival at the Côte d’Azur Airport, President Bio was warmly received by Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to France, Dr. Mohammed Kanja Sesay, and Deputy Ambassador, Madam Mamadi Ngobeh-Kamara.
