President of the Republic of Tatarstan Receives UNA Director General and Is Awarded the Union’s Medal for Media Diplomacy

Kazan (UNA) – The President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, received yesterday, Friday, at the Presidential Palace in the city of Kazan, the Director General of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA), Mr Mohammed bin Abdrabbuh Al-Yami, on the sidelines of the Fifth Kazan Global Youth Summit.
During the meeting, the Director General of UNA awarded President Rustam Minnikhanov the Union’s Medal for Media Diplomacy, making him the first head of state to receive this medal, in recognition of his efforts and contributions to supporting media work, strengthening bridges of communication and understanding, and consolidating cooperation between media institutions in the Republic of Tatarstan and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The meeting reviewed the prospects for joint cooperation between the Union and the Republic of Tatarstan in the media field, and ways to develop it and elevate it to broader horizons through enhanced coordination and the implementation of joint programmes and initiatives serving shared goals and interests.
The meeting also addressed the role of the media in fostering rapprochement and communication between peoples and cultures, and the importance of supporting media initiatives that contribute to building sustainable partnerships and strengthening the presence of media cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
